Online Marketplaces
Selling something for a firm low price (and gifting upon sale) is a nice way to donate if you are unable to physically transport the donation. Make a price low enough to sell quickly but high enough prevent no-shows. This method requires patience and is not tax deductible, but is a good way to help the community.
I Love a Clean San Diego
The city created WasteFreeSD, an online database that includes both nonprofit and commercial donation centers.
Other Ways
Regarding the placing of items on the curb, in hopes the furniture fairy will come get it. The city will not pick it up and your neighbors will be bothered. If you did curb it, you need not worry. We give discounts for curbside items.
